Tyson has been teaching bass guitar in Canada for many years and is also a busy professional bass player. After starting to play bass in his teens, Tyson was accepted to the prestigious applied music program at Mohawk College where he studied jazz music with some of the top players around. He graduated in 2001. Tyson continued pursuing music and played many gigs with local bands in clubs as well as theatre gigs such as performing in Tony & Tina's Wedding at the Second City Theatre. In 2006 Tyson played bass in a jazz trio for Carnival Cruise Lines, traveling throughout the Caribbean for a 3 month contract. Tyson is fluent in a number of styles of music such as rock, reggae, jazz, blues, and Celtic, which has helped his performing career take him to many interesting places around the world with various artists. Tyson enjoys teaching bass lessons and continues to freelance and perform with a number of groups.
