CÉLINE MURRAY

An accomplished violinist, Céline intuitively weaves the techniques acquired from her classical training to her craft as a consummate fiddle player of many styles.  Since entering the fiddle competition circuit at the age of eight, Céline has captured several first place honors and championship titles.  She currently holds the title of 2017 Canadian Open Old Time Fiddle Champion.  She has also participated in the prestigious Canadian Gand Masters Fiddle Competition placing among the top ten finalists in 2016 and 2017.  Céline performed with Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy as a member of the instrumental entourage for their "Celtic Family Christmas" tour in December 2018.  In September 2019 Céline will be attending the University of Toronto where she will be pursuing her Masters in Violin Performance. 

Céline has been studying classical violin since four years of age.  She is completing her final year in Violin Performance at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University in Montreal where she receives her violin tutelage from the critically acclaimed violin virtuoso, Jinjoo Cho.  Céline is a member of the McGill Symphony Orchestra as well as various chamber ensembles at McGill University.  She is an alumnus of the London Youth Symphony for which she was given the honourable position of Concert Mistress for two seasons.
